Mr. DaQuan Irvin

My name is DaQuan Irvin. I will be teaching all of the Math, Science and Gym classes this year at CenterPoint Christian Academy. I currently hold a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and am working on my Masters at U of M Flint. I have been a teacher for over three years around the Genesee county area.

I am looking forward to an amazing year of meeting new faces and helping everyone succeed. I truly believe that God has placed me here for a reason and I am excited for this journey. God Bless.

Mrs. Katie Jeltema

I joined CenterPoint as a teacher in April 2022 and am excited to be here as we work together to make our school the best it can be!  I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Michigan University. Working with students of all ages is one of my passions, and I have many years of experience working with children in many ways, including in schools, churches, and daycare.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, and taking walks in nature.

Mr. Randall Luxton

I am pleased to be here at CenterPoint Academy where I am teaching Fourth and Fifth Grades this year. I graduated from  Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, and went on to receive my Masters Degree in Music Education at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. I taught for 39 years in Lapeer, Michigan and in Spring Hill, Florida before coming out of retirement to teach here at CenterPoint. When I’m not teaching I enjoy spending time with family, playing guitar, listening to good music, golfing and bicycling.

Mrs. Jodi Callcut

I am excited to teaching Kindergarten at CenterPoint Christian Academy. Since a child, my career goal was to be an elementary teacher! I have a B.A. in Elementary Education/ English (K-8) with a Learning Disabilities Endorsement (K-12).  Upon college graduation, I taught one year as Elementary Teacher at my alma mater North Branch Wesleyan Academy and five years in the public schools as a Junior High Resource Room teacher. After a thirteen-year absence, I decided to get my teaching certificate reinstated.  I have been much happier returning to my true calling- teaching elementary students! Outside of the workplace, I enjoy walking and reading Christian books (particularly Romantic Suspense). We enjoy looking for deals!  My husband Douglas and I enjoy taking day trips, camping, kayaking, snowmobiling, sightseeing and  visiting lighthouses and waterfalls.  Every year, we visit the Mackinaw Bridge and the Upper Peninsula.

Mrs. Dawn Gaylord

I will be teaching Elementary specials (Physical Education/Health, Art, and Computers), 7th Grade Computer Applications and Creative Writing, 8th/9th Yearbook/Mastery Skills, and 11th 12th Applied Journalism (Paw Print). Bringing 20 years of teaching expertise, including Elementary and MS Science, K4 and K5, HS German, 2nd Grade, and most recently, 1st Grade, I am looking forward to working with you and your student at CenterPoint Christian Academy!

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Since I was an elementary student in my mom’s classroom, I felt God’s calling to teach. I have been working with students and helping them to learn both academics and about God’s Word since I was a teenager. When I’m not teaching, I love reading, movies, Christian music, singing, and spending quality time with family and friends. Jesus is the center of my life, my household, and my classroom.

Mr. David Rowe

I teach high school science, health, and physical education. I was born in Flint, Michigan and attended Burton-Atherton High School. After high school I obtained my Associates Degree in General Studies from Mott Community College, and my Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University. I am a devout Christian of the Nazarene denomination and currently reside in Grand Blanc. Outside of church and school I enjoy sports. I try to play basketball, hockey, and golf as regularly as possible. I’m an avid reader, I like to stay up-to-date with current events, discuss ideas, hike, listen to music/podcasts, and spend quality time with my fiancé. C.S. Lewis once wrote, “In science we have been reading only the notes to the poem; in Christianity we find the poem itself.” My aim is that your children leave my classes with the understanding that science supports the idea of God – and that science and religion are complementary, not contradictory. God’s presence is strong here at CenterPoint and I’m grateful to be a part of the team.

Ms. Neketia Alyatim

Hello, my name is Ms. Neketia Alyatim. I will be teaching Spanish grades kindergarten to eleventh.

I am from Michigan but was raised in the South (TN, MS, and NC). I attended Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, NC, and my class was the first graduating class. Currently, I am working on my Masters of Arts in Secondary Education. I graduated from Charles Stewart Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint. I majored in Spanish, and I minored in American Literature and United States History. Go blue!

I have taught in the GCCS (Genesee County Catholic Schools) for five years. I taught Spanish at St John the Evangelist-Fenton, Holy Family, Holy Rosary, and St. Pius Catholic schools.

I have two sons, and they are six years and a day apart (They are twenty-two and sixteen). I love learning languages, and I have studied French and Arabic. I also love playing board games, especially in Spanish classes such as Verbo. I enjoy spending time with my sons, listening to music, going to the movies, traveling (20-25 States, Canada, Bahamas, Jordan, Palestine/Israel), and enjoying life. I am thankful for the time, and life has given me.

My childhood dream was to be a teacher, and I have a gift for learning other languages. Believe it or not, I did not like Spanish. I struggled with the language for several reasons. Once I grasped the language, I fell in love with Spanish.

Mrs. Dawn Boillat

I have been working at CCA, in different capacities, since 2005. My husband, Jeremy, and I live in Montrose, and have a daughter Moriah (who is a 2022 CCA graduate) and a son Jeremy Jr. (who has attended CCA since he was in daycare). We are members of Faith Christian Family Church in Lapeer. When we are not working, we enjoy cheering on our kids in all of their sports; and going Up North to relax around the campfire. CCA has been such a big part of our lives since our kids were little; that the staff, and families alike, have become like family to us. They are not just here to teach our children, but to love them and point them to Jesus. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this staff. My prayer for our students is 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
