Hello, my name is Ms. Neketia Alyatim. I will be teaching Spanish grades kindergarten to eleventh.
I am from Michigan but was raised in the South (TN, MS, and NC). I attended Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, NC, and my class was the first graduating class. Currently, I am working on my Masters of Arts in Secondary Education. I graduated from Charles Stewart Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint. I majored in Spanish, and I minored in American Literature and United States History. Go blue!
I have taught in the GCCS (Genesee County Catholic Schools) for five years. I taught Spanish at St John the Evangelist-Fenton, Holy Family, Holy Rosary, and St. Pius Catholic schools.
I have two sons, and they are six years and a day apart (They are twenty-two and sixteen). I love learning languages, and I have studied French and Arabic. I also love playing board games, especially in Spanish classes such as Verbo. I enjoy spending time with my sons, listening to music, going to the movies, traveling (20-25 States, Canada, Bahamas, Jordan, Palestine/Israel), and enjoying life. I am thankful for the time, and life has given me.
My childhood dream was to be a teacher, and I have a gift for learning other languages. Believe it or not, I did not like Spanish. I struggled with the language for several reasons. Once I grasped the language, I fell in love with Spanish.
